Sevenfold will be performing at Rock am Ring and Rock im Park festival
on December 3-5, 2011 along with other bands like Alter Bridge, System
of a Down, and In Flames.[Edit] Characteristics[Edit] GenreAvenged Sevenfold material covering various genres and has developed over the band's career ten years. Initially,
the debut album Sounding the Seventh Trumpet consisted almost entirely
of metalcore, but there are some deviations to this genre, especially in
"Streets" which adopts the style of punk and "Warmness on the Soul,"
which is a piano ballad-oriented. On
Waking the Fallen, metalcore band displayed in a contemporary style
once again, but add more extensive clean vocals and musical elements are
more mature and complex. In
the band's DVD All Excess, producer Andrew Mudrock explained this
transition: "When I met the band after Sounding the Seventh Trumpet had
come out before they had recorded Waking the Fallen, M. Shadows said to
me 'this recording scream. We want to make will be a half- half scream and sing. I do not want to scream again and after that the records will be singing all .. ""In City of Evil, Avenged Sevenfold's third album, the band chose to leave the metalcore genre, developing a harder rock style. Album
Avenged Sevenfold's self-titled, again, consists of several deviations
to the genre are less consistent and the style of playing hard rock and
songs of heavy metal, especially in "Dear God", which adopts a country
style, and "A Little Piece of Heaven ",
which is circled in the influence of a Broadway show songs, especially
the use of brass instruments and friction orchestra to take over part of
the role of lead and rhythm guitar. Nightmare
contains further irregularities, including a piano ballad called
"Fiction" and a brief return to their metalcore roots in the "God Hates
Us". The
band has changed a lot since their first album, in which during that
time they have been characterized as a heavy band with screaming and
growling vocal style combined with clean vocals, chugging guitar riffs
and the damage that one can expect from the metalcore genre.[Edit] The band's name and content of the lyricsIn an interview for Skratch Magazine M. Shadows
says "the name itself comes from the Bible is basically the first
murder on Earth between Cain and Abel .. [name is] 'what goes around,
comes around' kind of thing. And just so there is no confusion, not the
band Avenged Sevenfold religion
"section where the name comes from the Bible is Genesis (King James
Bible) - specifically Genesis 4:15, where Cain is sentenced to life in
exile for killing his brother. "And
the Lord said to him, therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall
be taken on him seven times And the LORD set a mark on Cain, that
whosoever found him should kill him.". The acronym "A7X" to name their band is the brainchild of guitarist Zacky Vengeance. The
title of Avenged Sevenfold's song "Chapter Four" refers to the fourth
chapter of Genesis, in which the story of Cain and Abel happen. The subject of the song also appears to this story. "Beast
and the Harot", yet another song derived from the Bible, comes from the
Book of Revelation was only written in first person and refers to the
punishment of Babylon the Great, world empire and seat of false
religion.Another biblical reference occurs in the song "The Wicked End". In
this song, several times said "dust the apple off, Savor each bite, and
deep inside you know Adam was right" making reference to Eve eating the
forbidden fruit. Although
the title and name of the stage band members' makes reference to
religion, Shadows stated in an interview that they are not a religious
band. "Anyone who reads the lyrics and really knew nothing about us, they'll know we do not promote," he said."That's
one thing about this band that I love that we never really pushed
various kinds, such as, political or religious beliefs on people. We
only music there to entertain and maybe thought on both sides, but we
did not try. Like,
really push things into one's throat. There are too many bands are
doing it now, I think .. "The band has some songs that are somewhat
political in nature like" Critical Acclaim "," Gunslinger "and" Blinded
in Chains ". The song "Betrayed" in the album City of Evil tells the story of "Dimebag Darrell's death".[Edit] The DeathbatLogo band known as "Deathbat". It
was originally designed by an artistic high school friend of Avenged
Sevenfold, Micah Montague, as seen on the band's first DVD, All Excess. The Deathbat has appeared in all the band's album, much was done by Cameron Rackam, a close friend of the band. The
Deathbat has grown from just a skull with bat wings, to sometimes
appear as a "measure of the" full skeleton with bat wings, as can be
seen on the cover of the album City of Evil and Nightmare and the single
"Dear God" and "Scream" . On
Sounding the Seventh Trumpet, there are pictures of two people (where
it looks like Cain and Abel), another angel like a human and semi-opaque
Deathbat below, some Deathbat appears on the back cover of the album as
well. The
Deathbat also appeared on the cover of a number of singles such as "Bat
Country", "Warmness on the Soul" and "Critical Acclaim".[Edit] Band MembersThe band members play instruments but occasionally they are the main instruments listed below.Active membersM.
